There is a pool to suit every budget from a little inflatable above ground splash pool to a stunning luxury indoor tiled pool. The cost of a new swimming pool can vary greatly depending on what size pool you require, whether it is indoor or outdoor, site access and any extras. For example heating and type of cover.  A basic 30 x 15 outdoor lined pool would start from £40-50,000.

An outdoor liner pool would typically take 4-6 weeks. There are one piece pools available that can be installed quicker.

Running cost will depend on the size of the pool and the number of months it is open for. Costs will include chemicals, electricity to run pump and heater if available. A general estimate would be £100-150 per month. You will also need to allow for general maintenance and repairs.

As long as the pool is 2 metres from the house and boundary and under permitted development then planning permission would not be needed. For an indoor pool planning permission would be needed.

A pool should be tested for chlorine/bromine and pH on a regular basis and dosed. There are numerous factors that can cause a pool to turn green but not enough chlorine or too high or low pH are the most common causes of a green pool.
